Title: RPGtonight Living Game Playtesting
Type: fantasy
System: D&D 4e
Level: Requires at least a little familiarity with 4e
Languages: English
Lurking: sometimes
Gametimes: will vary, many games with several GMs
Description
(Updated May 6): The playtesting sessions for the on site Living Game are starting. We are still accepting players and GMs, the more the merrier. We are testing out the rules set and operation of this game, which is different from traditional living games. In this game, the GMs are playing the game themselves in their own way. They are representing various noble factions and have their own characters to play, instead of random NPCs. GMs can only accomplish their goals through the actions of players, so the adventures and missions that the players go on is determined by the GM's efforts to help and hinder each other as well as deal with the forces threatening their kingdom. Single players as well as groups of friends who want to play together as a party are welcome. For more information see the announcement in the center column of the main page and the "Living Game Playtest Information and Recruitment" section of the Forums (click on the "text bulletin board" link in the left column of the main page - you don't have to be signed up to view most posts).

Title: FFXI RPG
Type: fantasy
System: new
Level: beginner, level 1
Languages: I only speak English fluently, sorry
Lurking: sure
Gametimes: TBA - it will be during the weekend
Description
I will be running my own FFXI RPG for anyone who is interested. It should be a lot of fun for anyone who has ever played FFXI or any FF for that matter. I will be using a simple system that I came up with. I tested it on my friends and it was very fast to pick up. The system is heavily influenced by Tristat dX, D&D, 7th Sea, and of course FFXI's actual game mechanics. Please respond to this thread or PM me if you are interested. If I get enough people to show an interest, I will post the system I came up with so people can begin character creation. I'm looking for about 6 players. A standard party setup would be nice (tank, heal, support, 3 dds) but it's not necessary. You'll have the opportunity to change jobs just like the real game. I would like to use voicechat if possible (to speed things up, especially combat), either through this website or through Vent/Skype. If people are more comfortable typing, then no worries. We may end up with a hybrid of voice/text. I have a great storyline planned out, so I'm looking for people who care more about exploration and uncovering mysteries than people who are all about hack'n'slash. I'm a GM who rewards flexibility and creativity all in the name of telling a better tale. T

Title: Temple of Kth'u'uk. looking for 4 players
Type: Fantasy
System: Microlite20 - similar to d20 but alot simpler
Level: beginner, will start at lvl 1
Languages: English
Lurking: no
Gametimes: gmt -5 whenever the players feel good to start!
Description
Games will be run via Openrpg 1.8 on the blackstar games server. Email me for more information and rules Not so long ago the hill and environs was home to one of the stranger Kobold tribes of the realm. The entire area was deeply forested, and the Tribe of K'thu'uk held sway. These Verdant Kobolds called the tree branches their home, worshipping the bones of their Green Dragon ancestor in their whistling, chirping language. Then the humans came. They tore down much of the woodland to build their farms and villages. The Tribe of K'thu'uk fought back as only they knew how, erecting ingenious traps along forest paths, luring hunters into deadly swampland and planting assassin vines and slumberspores where humans were likely to tread. The humans grew to fear the Forest, and reacted in the way all Humans respond to things they fear. They destroyed it. Much of the forest was taken by fire leaving a vast tract of ash that has only become usable farmland in recent years. What remains of the the forest nestles atop the hill surrounded by a river – a fortunate defence against the flames, and the Verdant Kobold's saviour. Hidden in the copse is a cave mouth underneath a rock outcropping shaped like a dragon's jaw.

Title: Keep On the Shadowfell
Type: Fantasy
System: D&D 4e
Level: Beginner, start at 1st lvl
Languages: English
Lurking: yes
Gametimes: Every monday and/or Wednesday 10pm GMT -5
Description
The town of Winterhaven stands watch over a ruined keep that was once a bastion of good in the realm. This keep overlooks the Shadow Rift, a dark scar in the world that was once a gateway to the Shadowfell but has been dormant for many years. Now, an evil cleric of Orcus, Demon Lord of the Undead, seeks to re-open the gate, and the only thing standing in his way is a small yet determined band of heroes. Games will either be hosted here or OpenRPG depending on what players have. although i'd really like to run it through here. Character creation starts at lvl 1 and you can have your choice of 1 lvl3 or lower magic item of your choosing. its recommended that you have the D&D character builder it makes things ALOT easier. and you need very basic knowledge of how D&D works... although new D&D players are welcome to join as well. Email or Pm me your character sheets when finished Email: Venpresath@live.com

Title: Ray Winninger's Underground
Type: Cyberpunk/Superhero/Modern
System: Underground
Level: very beginner
Languages: English
Lurking: yes
Gametimes: Friday and Saturday evenings, EST
Description
In a not-too-distant future, the world's three trading blocs are at constant war over economic control of third world countries. The major conflict firms, using technology gleaned from a crashed alien vessel, have begun genetically enhancing their soldiers, raising their abilities to superhuman levels and bestowing them with a host of special powers - mind control, retractable fangs, and acid blood among them. Upon returning home, american veterans face bigotry and discrimination, as people are fearful of the veterans' powers, and of the inevitable psychoses that result from the genetic surgery. PCs will be boosted veterans in poverty stricken urban america, and may use their special skills for the good of the people, or for their own personal gain, or to deliberately cause harm; Who knows? The system, published in 1993, is based on a scaled down version of the DC Superheroes RPG, with elements vaguely similar to d20. We are very new to online RPGs and rusty with RPGs in general. It may be slow-going at first, but if we all work together it should be great. anyone interested may email me to start with character generation and organize specific times.
